Position Overview:
As a Full Stack Software Developer at GeoSpan, you will play a key role in the design, development, and enhancement of our software platform. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to create intuitive and efficient solutions that leverage geospatial data to address the unique challenges of the roofing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and scalable software solutions.
- Design and implement front-end and back-end components of our software platform, ensuring high performance, reliability, and usability.
- Develop interactive user interfaces and data visualization tools that provide actionable insights derived from geospatial data.
- Integrate geospatial computing libraries and APIs into our software platform to support advanced spatial analysis and modeling capabilities.
- Implement robust data processing pipelines to ingest, transform, and analyze geospatial data from various sources, including satellite imagery, and aerial surveys.
- Optimize algorithms for efficient geospatial data processing, storage, and retrieval.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, perform code reviews, and ensure code quality and best practices.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in geospatial computing technologies and trends, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geomatics, or related field.
- Proven experience as a full stack software developer, with expertise in front-end and back-end development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript (Node.js, React.js, Vue.js), Python, Java, or C#.
- Strong understanding of geospatial concepts, including coordinate systems, spatial data formats, and geospatial analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Solid understanding of web development technologies and frameworks, including HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the roofing industry or with construction-related software solutions.
- Knowledge of GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or Esri's ArcGIS API for JavaScript.
- Familiarity with remote sensing techniques and tools for analyzing satellite and aerial imagery.
- Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch.
- Previous contributions to open-source geospatial computing projects or communities.
