We are presently hiring for caring Direct Support Staff (DSS) who will be
responsible for assisting individuals at our Jobs and Day Training facility. DSS will
engage individuals with social skills, prevocational skills, job employment skills,
volunteerism, and community engagement.

What’s a day look like in the life of a DSS?
Our DSS is vital to our success. You are the face of the company because you interact directly with the people we serve. Through your clear communication and direct assistance, you will help our participants learn skills to live meaningful and purposeful lives.
Specifically, you will…
Provide support to people with disabilities by implementing Individualized Support Plans so they achieve their personal goals and to meet their needs and desires.
Maintain support by providing choices for job skills and the ability to learn job program objectives and job-related capabilities.
Complete required documentation to include Incident Reporting.
Assist with information gathering for Person Centered goals and job skills assessments.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment by following safety, equipment safety and infection control procedures.
Interact with parents or guardians, service coordinators through Desert Regional Center and the public in a positive, professional manner.
How do you qualify?
At least 18 years of age.
At least a high school graduate or equivalent required.
At least 6 months of work experience with individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities required.
Previous experience in training, habilitation and development of this population preferred.
Knowledge of basic computer technical skills, retail, café operation, music, photography/videography, audio and video editing, beauty, fashion, and/or other skills are helpful.
Ability to train and foster skills development with participants. Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal
communication.
