JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children across various age groups and backgrounds with autism, developmental disabilities. The Social Worker will play a crucial role in providing support, advocacy, and resources to improve the well-being of our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Conduct assessments to identify clients' needs and develop individualized care plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and services
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and case documentation
- Advocate for clients' rights and access to community resources
- Offer support and guidance to families and caregivers
- Develop and present IEP and/or Section 504 goals and objectives for the prevention and treatment of social emotional and/or behavioral issues which adversely impact achievement or performance.
- Provide counseling in individually or in groups, in conjunction with their IEPs as a related service as defined in the RI Regulations.
- Conduct screenings and social case history evaluations and re-evaluations and present results to Teams of Qualified Professionals
- Consult with school staff, parents, or others (as directed by Administrators) regarding socio-emotional and behavioral issues which adversely impact school achievement/performance.
- Intervene (when needed for school social work crisis intervention determined by a building administrator) by assessing the situation, giving support, making recommendations and providing social work services.
-Assist parents in understanding the process involved in all stages of the transition [i.e. completing forms as it pertains to guardianship, SSI, etc.]
REQUIERMENTS:
- Master's degree in Social Work or related field
-Rhode Island Certification as School Social Worker
-State licensure or certification as a Social Worker (LCSW, LMSW, etc.)
- Experience working with individuals with autism
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage case loads and prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of case management principles and practices
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques
