Full Job Description

Havenwood Nature School is a new preschool located on a beautiful, 15-acre ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas. We offer our students a nature inspired curriculum that connects the natural world with their social, emotional, and intellectual growth. With care at the heart of every endeavor, Havenwood also provides its unique food program as a signature service.

We are currently seeking an experienced Dishwasher and Runner to add to assist our current team of two. This job requires dish cleaning, food delivery to classrooms around campus, and dish pick up after meals times. This position also requires occasional light food prep work. Most importantly, as one of the more visible positions on campus, Havenwood is looking for kitchen staff with upbeat, positive, and professional energy.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES

Washes all dishes and kitchen tools used in food preparation and service operating automatic dishwashing equipment and washing by hand.
Deliver dishes and meals to the classrooms and remove dirty dishes promptly after meal times.
Wipes down counters, sinks, drains, and general dishwashing area ensuring sanitation and safety are top priority.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of the entire kitchen area, including dishes, dishwashing equipment, surface areas, appliances, cabinets, and keep all inventory organized, fresh/unexpired, and clean.

Show diligence and awareness of children and school team members that have allergies and food restrictions.

Maintains and complies with all certifications and training as required by county, state, and federal rules and regulations regarding food service and working with children.

Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with children, staff, and the school community.

REQUIREMENTS

Must successfully complete and pass required state and federal background checks.

Must meet minimum requirements of local child care and food service regulatory agencies.

Must have one years of professional food service experience.

Must have Food Handler's Certification or be willing to obtain before starting.
Other Requirements:

Able to navigate all areas of the kitchen, classroom, and school campus safely and quickly, including indoor and outdoor areas.

Able to stand and work on tile or concrete for long periods of time.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Able to withstand a wide range of temperature.

Able to work rapidly and efficiently in performing job duties.

Must have the ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with Lead Cook, supervisors, teachers/staff, parents/guardians, and children.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Starting Hourly Rate (Based on Experience): $15.50 per hour.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with occasional extended hours.
