General Description:
This position performs a variety of electrical work such as construction, maintenance and repair of systems for the utilization and distribution of electrical energy.
This position will be responsible for driving CCI Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the strategic plan to drive success. - Ensures a safe work environment.
- Plans layout, installs, and repairs electrical systems, wiring, equipment and controls in an industrial or commercial environment.
- Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and construction of industrial electrical equipment and systems found in an industrial or commercial environment through the proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants. Using the ability to read and understand conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, specifications, etc. Will be required to bend, cut, thread and install conduit. Install and terminate wiring. Check out and troubleshoot simple electric circuits and electrical devices and machinery.
- Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction such as hydraulic/electric benders, knockout punch sets, cable puller, meggers, hi-pot equipment, volt meters, multi-testers and ammeters. Accountable for testing, troubleshooting, setting and calibrating power distribution systems, and working with protective relaying and motor control circuits. Able to set and coordinate over-current protective devices, size feeder circuits and work on systems up to and including 13.8 KV a load break elbows and transformers. Testing and installing backup gas and diesel generators.
- Informs supervisor of any incidents involving injury, spills, equipment malfunctions and/or damage.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
. Knowledge of the National Electric Code.
. Knowledge of electrical circuits including the operation and function of typical electrical devices and machinery such as solenoids, relays, motors, transformers, switches, motor control centers, generators, batteries and lighting system, grounding an bonding, various electrical test equipment including TTR, Fluke 87, Megger, and Load banks, motors, motor controls.
. Knowledge of man lifts and scissor
. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, job descriptions, safety manuals and safety/warning si Ability to write simple correspondence. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and severe outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.
Physical Requirements:

A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. - MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
- HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
- VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
- LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from waist level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
- RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
