Call Center Patient Scheduler – Platinum Dermatology Partners

Position purpose: The scheduler will help patients schedule appointments at our various clinics. This is an entry-level position in the office.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

Must be good at building relationships with people.
Must be a team player.
Must have great customer service.
Must be able to handle high-volume calls.
Must be able to maintain physicians’ schedules – scheduling office visits and procedures (may be done via phone or face-to-face).
View patient visit notes, identifying problems & diagnoses listed and physician orders.
Assist in patient registration and financial transactions.
Can handle scheduling radiology/lab appointments.
Must be able to schedule appointments for patients.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

High School Diploma required.

Qualifications

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a doctor’s office.
Prior scheduling experience is required.
Dermatology experience is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer service skills are required
Experience working in a medical office
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented
Basic understanding of healthcare plans
Be able to read and understand medical benefits.
Valid Driver's License
Bilingual is a plus.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Physical Requirements: Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
