Full Job Description

Join the pack at the JP! Join our thriving and growing company to expand your career as a Production Associate/Machine Operator at our new Siler City facility.

Location: This posting is for an in-person position that will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC.

Please note this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially for approximately 3-6 months before transitioning over to the new site. (Time spent traveling for training in excess of an employee’s commute to the Siler City location is eligible to be counted towards time worked. Mileage reimbursement for distance traveled in excess of an employee’s commute to the Siler City location is also available.)

Shift: The person in this position will work a 12-hr shift (7-7) on one of our four shift patterns:

Front End Days: Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and every other Wednesday
Back End Days: Every other Wednesday, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
Front End Nights: Every other Saturday, Sundays, Monday, and Tuesdays
Back End Nights: Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and every other Saturday

Pay: $17.33-$23.00/hour , inclusive of bay rate plus shift differential. Day shift employees will receive a 5% shift differential, night shift employees will receive a 15% shift differential. Pay rate is determined based on prior experience and assigned department.

Sign-On Bonus: New hires will receive:

· a $500 bonus after the successful completion of three (3) months of employment

· a $1,500 bonus after the successful completion of six (6) months of employment

Job Responsibilities:

· Set-up, operate, load, and monitor equipment to ensure quality product is produced

· Perform tasks by frequently moving back and forth between machines

Minimum Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED equivalent

· A demonstrated work history of stability and dependability in previous roles

· Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak in English

· Ability to read very small print and details, either with or without appropriate corrective lenses

· Experience using hands to operate machinery and/or assemble product

· Basic computer and math skills

· Must be comfortable wearing personal protective equipment or PEE (i.e. lightweight cleanroom suit, eye protection, gloves, etc.)

· Must be comfortable working in a cleanroom setting or in dirty/dusty conditions (depending on assigned department)

· Ability to stand, walk, sit, or move around assigned work location without limitation for extended periods of time (i.e. up to 11 hours at a time)

Preferred Experience:

· 2+ years of relevant, on-the-job experience in a manufacturing or production, and/or vocational/technical training

· Experience using a microscope
