Position Purpose:

The Los Angeles Operations Manager will manage day-to-day venues operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set forth in the Transportation Operations Plan developed in collaboration with the client and TMS leadership. Ensure safe and efficient operations. Enhance the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and looks for opportunities to expand systems. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company's policies.

Responsibilities:

Act as on-site client liaison for all planned and delivered venue services.
Work closely with TMS leadership on staffing, routes, and vendors, necessary for the delivery of contracted services
Knowledgeable about the Los Angeles area, road networks and the region's public transport network.
Coordinate with TMS quality assurance personnel to ensure that the goods meet an acceptable standard and generate positive feedback from clients.
Work with bus vendors to ensure that quality equipment is properly procured and within the prescribed budget.
Dispatch drivers and organize breaks/hours, ensuring all the buses and transportation systems run to schedule.
Complete bus check-in accurately and timely with a detailed submission to procurement no later than 3 days after each event.
Unravel and solve complex transportation logistics problems. Document out of service paperwork and resolve with procurement in a timely fashion.
Train and prepare a team for the project at hand, conduct pre-training meeting and post event reviews, to improve the delivery.
Complete the staff lists accurately, to ensure that the right number of staff and talent is deployed.
Manage all part-time staff and ensure schedules are provided prior to the event and followed.
Ensure that all expense reports, timecards and schedules are completed.
Follow standard procedures when third parties and subcontractors are hired.
Ensure after action and post event notes are taken and tracked that include customer and client feedback.
Receive positive client, customer and associate satisfaction from post-event surveys and create action plans for opportunities that are surveyed.
Conduct pre-show meetings with staff and bus drivers to ensure that emergency protocols are covered, route directions are correct and driven prior to the show, incident management forms are filled out promptly for any customer or staff injuries, ADA protocols are met.
Travel up to 20% of the time is expected for this role, outside the LA area.

Industry Experience & Education:

Industry experience, particularly within the Live Events, is a key factor. A bachelor's degree and 6+ years of industry experience is preferred. The ideal candidate should possess strong relationship-building and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple client accounts and projects simultaneously. Experience delivering large and complex city-wide events is essential.

Successful candidates will have a track record of achieving client operational satisfaction and delivery goals and be proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics-based software solutions. High motivation for operational excellence, organizational skills, and the ability to anticipate client needs are critical for success in this role.

Bilingual Proficiency: Must be able to engage with staff, drivers, and passengers in both English and Spanish to provide support and resolve inquiries in both languages

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong leadership skills and proven supervisory experience.
Capable of solving complex problems.
Ability to apply TMS methodologies and tools.

Must be able to work well with others, take direction well, and at times work through ambiguity.
Must be a leader with the ability to influence others and maintain a positive outlook before, during, and after an event.
Expected to communicate effectively with clients, customers, and staff through written and verbal communication.
Required to travel with the flexibility and ability to deploy on short notice.
Must be authorized to work in the US
