Hudson Valley Lighting Group Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are a progressive and growing company looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a dedicated work ethic, be able to “look at the bigger picture” work well under pressure, be highly organized, and detail oriented. The ability to multi-task is essential. Prior SAP experience is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Nurture and grow customer relationships by communicating with customers regarding past-due accounts.
Provide excellent customer service to both internal team members and external customers.
Communicate with customers to resolve payment discrepancies and address complaints.
Communicate discrepancies to management team, identify slow-paying customers, and recommend customer holds.
Enter credit card transactions daily.
Reconcile customer payments and account transactions, includes speaking, emailing, and corresponding with the customer regarding reconciliation of the receivables items as necessary.
Keep accurate records of all customer communications in SAP and follow up with the manager if any issues need their attention.
Manage sales order grid based on your customer terms.
Daily review of the VKM1 grid managing accounts.
Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
Prepare reports for management as requested.
Prepare analysis of customer accounts as requested.
Research any customer credit requests and process once approved.
Assist in yearly audit and monthly closings.
Maintain A/R files.
Provide assistance and support to other team members.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Associate degree in accounting or similar field (will consider equivalent experience). At least 2 years prior accounts receivable experience.
E-commerce experience a plus.
Must be extremely accurate, have great attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must have strong math and analytical skills.
Prior collection call experience is a must.
Must work independently with minimum supervision.
Excel at operating in a fast-paced environment.
Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to research and utilize internal/external databases.
SAP S/4 experience preferred.

Requirements:

Able to perform general office skills.
Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, listening, and thinking quickly.
Requires standing, walking, carrying, stooping, crouching, sitting, grasping and reaching, and climbing stairs.
May require lifting, pulling, and/or pushing up to 30 lbs.
US citizen or permanent resident (no Visa sponsorship available).
