Full Job Description

Job Mission:

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department, including maintaining personnel-related data; administering pay, benefits and leave; handling the company’s recruitment and onboarding needs; and overseeing general office administration. This role will also be responsible for ensuring the company is compliant with federal, state and local laws and enforcing company policies and practices. The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in building and maintaining Grupo Flor’s culture and human resources capital, as well as ensuring an organized and efficient work environment.

Essential Functions:

Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates etc.) to ensure all employment requirements are met.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training and anti-harassment training.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training development.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Ensures that safety-related programs and processes are in place.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Facilitate culture-building and human resources capital development.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure administrative efficiency.
Oversee general office administration.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Ability to use and manage Google Suites
Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Good organizational and time management skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Physical Demands:

Employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Education and Experience:

Experience:

At Least 2 years of experience working in a management-level role in human resources.
In-depth knowledge of human resources and organizational behavior processes and best practices.
Experience managing human resources programs in a variety of industries, including agriculture and manufacturing a plus.

Education:

Bachelors or Associates in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field or the equivalent in experience
SHRM certification is a plus
