Baiken Media is a strong subcontractor force in the Audio Visual Integrator market. For over 10 years, we have worked with leading technology companies all around the Boston area. Our mission is the provide a single source for installation, configuration and maintenance of small and large audio visual installations. We install various types of rooms and systems, including: Conference Systems, Auditoriums, Zoom Rooms, Broadcast and Recording Studios. We generally work on site around the city for reputable, trustworthy clients, but also do shop/rack fabrication work as needed. We are looking for a flexible candidate, able to travel around Boston, who is willing to take on tasks and learn as we go. Basic install skills are a plus but the industry's needs are increasingly more centered towards field engineering (which includes commissioning and configuring AV gear). AV programming skills or any other related certifications are a huge plus! Our ideal candidate would have some skills and experience in this industry, but the most essential skill is real time troubleshooting and maintaining efficiency in an ever-changing environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Configuration and training of small to medium AV systems. Typical AV systems will include equipment such as: Audio DSPs (Biamp, QSYS, Symmetrix), PTZ cameras (Sony, Panasonic, Vaddio) and controllers, Zoom Room systems (Neat, Crestron Flex, Logitech Rally), Control Systems & Video Switchers (Crestron, AV Pro Edge, Visionary, Extron)
- Communicate with our corporate clients and do final training on completed systems
- Work with consultants, install team, and clients to complete final punchlists and other close-out documentation.
- Interface with other departments as needed such as engineering, drafting, and project management
- Posses basic IT/Networking knowledge.
- When necessary, provide on-site technical support for Remote Programming or other Remote Support Engineers
- Ability to read CAD drawings and schematics
Qualifications
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- Proficient with a computer
- Communicate clearly and effectively and professionally with clients, project managers, other trades and technicians. Proper email etiquette is a must!
- Adherence to the documentation standards of the project/client.
- Must have a car, although the work is primarily in Boston, transportation to various parts of the city is necessary
- Attention to detail, perseverance to finish the last 10% of the job.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Have experience with Microsoft Teams and Zoom
- At least 1 year experience with AV field Engineering
Optional but desired skills:
- Advanced Networking skills are a huge plus! (Network router/switch configuration)
- Any programming knowledge (Crestron Masters, Extron MLC)
- Able to mount devices such as TVs and Speakers
- Basic Tool knowledge (knows how to operate a drill, knows how to snake a wall and pull cable)
- Basic install needs would include wire-pulls, terminations, rack fabrication and cable management for wiring and installation
- Any related certifications (CTS, Biamp, Crestron, Osha-10/20/40, Hilti, Lift certification)
- Live sound/video experience and any corporate event experience is a big plus!
Travel
- Some domestic travel available if desired, but not required
