Job Summary:
Medix Infusion is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Compliance to join our team. In this vital role, you will ensure that our internal practices and programs meet all legal and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, JCAHO, and other relevant healthcare policies. Your primary responsibility will be to measure organizational compliance accurately through internal audits and investigations. Based on your findings, you will recommend effective strategies to implement the highest quality industry standards in our practices.
You will also create and manage a robust framework to address regulatory breaches and act as a compliance advisor to employees, establishing secure communication channels for reporting compliance issues and violations. By leading employee training programs, you will foster a culture of integrity, ensuring all staff are aware of proper conduct and compliance procedures. Additionally, you will ensure data integrity and identify risk areas that could compromise Medix Infusion's compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and accreditation standards.

Medix Infusion provides personalized home and in-suite infusion therapy services for patients with chronic or acute conditions. Our dedicated team ensures each patient’s journey is as smooth as possible. We offer medical infusion therapies, including anti-infectives, biologics, IVIG, and other injectable and infusion treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the business environment and requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners to identify business goals and performance gaps.
- Develop and implement company-wide practices and programs to ensure compliance with standards.
- Establish and maintain high standards of conduct and appropriate behaviors.
- Prepare and lead the execution of employee training programs to ensure awareness of compliance guidelines.
- Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of patients’ medical records and personal information.
- Create effective communication lines for employees to report compliance issues without fear of retaliation.
- Investigate compliance concerns and verify regulatory violations.
- Develop corrective action plans for regulatory breaches.
- Conduct compliance audits and investigations to identify risk areas and vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to the development of organizational compliance strategies.
- Establish compliance operational strategies and critical measurements.
- Protect the organization by establishing compliance and risk management standards.
- Ensure annual regulatory compliance.
- Communicate with clients, case managers, guardians, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead direct reports, ensuring accountability, training, and performance evaluations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Identify organizational vulnerabilities and develop standard operating procedures, policies, and protocols.
- Document and investigate medication and medical/medication-related incidents.
- Ensure familiarity with agency policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Maintain fluency in state and federal regulations related to our services.
- Develop and monitor the organization’s quality improvement plan.
- Facilitate the health information component of the annual re-certification process.
- Develop and lead corrective action plans and strategies to prevent repeat citations.
- Train others in the use of electronic records and project management software.
- Lead and act on committees related to performance and quality improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing, business, or a relevant field.
- 7+ years of experience in a healthcare compliance role.
- CHCP certification preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accreditation and certification bodies (ACHC, URAC, JCAHO).
- Extensive knowledge of HIPAA, federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to form strong relationships and build trust within the organization.
